Original Dynohub Tail Lamp Lens

Photo 1. Original Dynohub tail lamp lens – click image for details

This is the original Dynohub tail lamp assembly as found on my 1950 Raleigh Roadster 3-Speed bicycle. It worked fine, but the original red screw-in lens was missing. The bulb shown in the photo is not the original style, but was used for testing. The distance between the inside edges of the lamp body is 0.617" (15.6 mm). So the lens diameter should be 0.617" (15.6 mm) at the point where it screws into the body of the assembly. I am not sure of the thread size. It probably uses Whitworth threads.

Update: I found a replacement lens on January 24, 2007 as part of a complete, albeit somewhat rusty Sturmey-Archer tail lamp assembly.
